As a Junior Designer your main focus is website design. However, you might also be called to design applications and other materials, like whitepapers, infographics, presentations, and more. You are driven by curiosity and empathy which allows you to understand business problems. With this knowledge you advocate for the client's end-users through your designs, which include beautiful interfaces and digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Participate in discussions with clients, driving towards an understanding of expected design look and feel.
- Conceive and produce mood boards, visual evolution, animations, illustrations, style guides, and other representations of design direction to guide clients through the design process and decision.
- Design novel and engaging responsive layouts, as well as creating experiences for web & mobile.
- Present design solutions to client stakeholders, communicating not only what design decisions have been made but the reason behind those decisions, anchoring design in the functional and emotional goals of the site.
- Collaborate with other designers with different focuses, such as user experience, in producing all design material, such as wireframes, sitemaps, interactions.
- Collaborate with front end engineers on all lifecycle step from prototypes to final implementation.
- Iterate to refine design solutions considering interactivity and multi-device reality.
- Develop style guides, user guides, and other deliverables designed that detail the design solution for development and future reference.
- Have a collaborative, self-motivated, "always-learning" spirit, interested in identifying and solving the web's design challenges one experience at a time.
Requirements
- Must speak portuguese fluently (not necessarily the primary language).
- Demonstrated portfolio of compelling, engaging digital solutions and an ability to define what makes them successful.
- Experience with Figma.
Nice to have
- Experience with design systems/pattern libraries.
- Good understanding of the web as a medium: HTML, CSS, web typography, responsive design, and what it means to realize designs in a multi-device world.
- Understanding of content strategy, publishing workflows, and content management platforms.
- Experience designing for WordPress and/or digital publishing websites and apps.
- Experience working with Enterprise-level clients.
- Experience designing with a UX lens and/or collaborating with UX designers.
- Formal design education.
